Lets see, I just turned 40. I just removed myself from a Southern Baptist household where I wasn't really able to practice indepth. Now that I'm in a place more to myself I decided I'd like to start in proper, including joining a few sites and groups online.
I've always been interested in things paranormal and occult. I spent my teens buried in related sections in whatever library or bookstore that I was near. In 1990 around my 20th birthday I ran across a book on Wicca that started me down a pagan path. It was one of Scott Cunningham's books. After that I started reading many things witchcraft specific, from both practitioners and anti writers. I was actually shocked at the ignorance in that field.
At any rate, I stuck to the Wiccan specific books for about 6 years, or at least what was being peddled as Wiccan at the time. I've happened across a few traditionalists that shared their views, as well as those who never tried to join a formal coven. I spent a lot of time trying to compare, and in some cases reconcile, some of the differences between. Due to a few fundamental ideas on ritual and deity I decided it would be better for me to step back into a more eclectic pagan realm of practice.
So, more recently I have called myself pagan spiritualist or a spiritualist witch. I have been called quite a few other things but I think some of them might not be proper for this site.![]()
